Shaw Communications Invests, Inks Deals with San Francisco's $17M Startup RDIO.

SUMMARY
Czikk’s article in Betakit publications on, “Shaw Communications Invests, Inks Deals with San Francisco’s $17M startup RDIO” (2014), discusses Shaw’s collaboration with RDIO in supplying the finest digital music streaming to their customer base. In addition, Czikk further states, “Shaw also announced that it has invested in Rdio’s holding company, Pulser Media, Inc”. Shaw Communications is adding digital music streaming to their lineup of services to better supply their customers with premium service. Shaw, in collaboration with the American company RDIO, sees the potential in the Canadian market due to the multicultural society and the growing community of recording artists and music enthusiasts, who would enjoy what they had to offer. Both Shaw and RDIO, a provider in the delivery of digital music streaming in Canada, foresee the day when they will eventually become the number one supplier to Canadians. Customers also have the options to choose from up to an average of 12 million songs. To draw potential customers, RDIO promotes a free two-week trial period.

OPINION
The article shows me how much Shaw Communications cares for their customers. In the article, Shaw’s CEO, Jim Shaw quotes “as Canada’s leading network and content experience company, we believe our customers should have access to the best content available”. Furthermore, the partnership with RDIO will enable Shaw customers, alongside the general public, to enjoy the service. As a Shaw customer, I appreciate that the company wants to offer the best to their customers. That means they have their customers’ best interests at heart. I believe this is why Shaw Communications is one of Canada’s leading network companies.

QUESTIONS?

  1. I have never heard about this company before. I am really into music and maybe this company will give me a good opportunity to re-new my music collection. It is even interesting how music record companies try to sell product. It reminds me Netflix, but for audio records.

  4. I can't believe I am admitting it on Google, but, no. I have never signed with any streaming service provider. I simply listen to music on the net. No, After a very bad experience with Rogers, I am very reluctant to have any dealings with any cable companies. However, I appreciate the tone Mr. Shaw is setting at the top.
